This collection reflects the position of women in contemporary society, where a woman's body is not seen as an independent entity but rather as an object defined by specific functions, subject to constant scrutiny and judgment. This collection specifically explores aspects of the female body that, in many societies, are primarily regarded as tools for pleasure and sexual identity.
In some pieces of this collection, legs emerge from within lips, symbolizing desire and sexual longing. This imagery highlights how society has constructed an image of women as bodies meant primarily to serve the gaze and desires of others. These works critique the commodification of women, where female identity is often confined to physical allure and sexuality.
On the other hand, some pieces depict hands reaching out from the lips. These hands symbolize the silent cries of women seeking help and liberation—a representation of their yearning for freedom and a change in their circumstances. They are searching for a way to escape the rigid roles that society has imposed upon them.
A striking visual element in this collection is the paintings drawn onto the lips. At first glance, these paintings appear beautiful and serene, but upon closer inspection, they reveal decaying and withering gardens. This serves as a metaphor for the internal state of women who, on the surface, seem flawless and composed, yet internally, they are experiencing erosion and collapse. They live in a society that expects them to always appear perfect, attractive, and presentable, while in reality, many of them are breaking down.
In this collection, the contrast between appearance and reality, desire and suffering, freedom and constraint is starkly displayed. The women portrayed in this project
struggle constantly between their social image and their inner truth. Society demands that they always smile, yet these smiles often serve as masks for their hidden pain and suffering.
