At the border of blue and gray sky
The initial idea of the work is a reflection of the moqarnas of mosques. A recurring element that creates a dramatic effect in space. Regardless of the meaning, one can stare at it for hours and discover new dimensions. This repetition is also seen many times in nature. But what made me choose the cactus plant in the face of the calm and spiritual space of Gnid was its contrast. The seemingly soft forms are covered with a mass of thorns and form a frightening and harsh space. These two combinations exactly helped to express all the meanings that I had in mind. The contrast that exists in every human being. Inside and outside of us
"The border between the blue and gray sky" is an attempt to challenge the darkness and light that make up our inside and outside, and sometimes one dominates the other. I took help from the geometric elements and motifs of Iranian architecture to create forms that evoke continuity, peace, order and spirituality. In contrast, the ambiguous and dark volumes with uneven and blistered forms encompass this geometric continuity and order, separated by a thin border. This contrast is intended to show the dark and black spaces around us and the violence, judgment, jealousy and darkness within our minds that conflict with our human peace, radiance and beauty. The two are perhaps inseparable, that sometimes we choose to stand on only one side of this border.
